Hello and welcome to my portfolio!

My name is Morris Belfrage, I’m a 22 year old game animator based in Stockholm. I’m studying 3D graphics at Futuregames.

I’ve been playing games for as long as I can remember.
As I grew up on video games the dream has always been to be a part of the community that creates games, to contribute with my touch on interactive narratives. However I never really knew what role I would play in developing games. For the longest time I thought I would be either a game designer or a 3D artist (environments and the likes) and I only recently realized that game animation was really my calling.

Right of the bat, after finishing high school, I began studying for a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Game Development at Stockholms University. It was a mix of game design, programming and 3D graphics, with a focus on the academic part of game development. I learned a lot about game design and its theory and in the end I wrote a bachelor thesis on “Narrative Affordance in Digital Games“. However, even though I spent a lot of my free time on honing my 3D skills I felt that I wasn’t progressing fast enough, and that is why I began studying at Futuregames Academy after my studies at Stockholms University.

It was some months into Futuregames that I found my passion for game animation, and even though I realized it a bit late I have been working my hardest to catch up, which I’m certain I have by now. What I may lack in skill or experience I compensate by strength of will and learning quickly. I enjoy working in teams, and during my 4 years of game studies I’ve had the opportunity to work in a lot of different groups on different projects, many of which I took a leading role. From these experiences I have learned many important things, among others the importance of good communication and how to take and give feedback, and also how to keep the spirit up and have fun while working.
